Established businesses. Sensible transactions.

Jetland acquires established UK companies with a real trading history, proper customers and people who know what they are doing. The criteria below describe the businesses we look at most often.

What we look for

Size

Usually £1m–£10m+ turnover.

Profitability

Normally profitable, with an established trading history.

Ownership

Privately owned UK businesses.

Sectors

We are particularly interested in established businesses operating in areas such as:

  • Engineering
  • Manufacturing
  • Industrial products and services
  • Specialist distribution
  • Compliance and testing
  • Facilities and technical services
  • B2B services

We will consider businesses outside these areas where the fundamentals are strong.

The situations we most often see

Owners approach Jetland for a range of practical reasons. Any of the following is a normal starting point for a conversation.

  • Retirement
  • Succession
  • Reducing day-to-day involvement
  • Shareholder change
  • Previous sale process not completed

What we are less interested in

We are generally less suited to businesses that aren't B2B, early-stage businesses, speculative ventures, pre-profit companies and businesses whose value depends almost entirely on the continued involvement of one individual.

If you are not certain whether the business fits, a short telephone call will usually settle it. These are guidelines rather than rigid rules, and we would rather tell you quickly than leave you wondering.
